Late Summer Outing

Had three great guys booked for a half day near shore today. The forecast was not in our favor but thought with a northeast wind we could at the very least troll along the coast and pick up a Spanish mackerel or two. Left Myrtle Beach Yacht Club at 7:00 am and headed out the inlet at low tide. Seas were choppy but not bad at all. Started trolling along the beach as planned and shortly started picking up a Spanish here and there picking up a half dozen in short order.

It appeared that the crew had their sea legs about them so we thought we would push out about 10 miles and see if we could find some kings for the guys. By now the wind and seas had started to pick up but we stayed out there about an hour and a half looking. Unfortunately, time was running out and the wind was picking up so we decided it was time to head back to the dock. Got back to the marina about 1:30.
